Frequently Asked Questions

Please read our following FAQ's for questions you might have.

  • Can family members witness a cremation?

Yes. This request should be discussed at the arrangement conference so a date and time can be scheduled.

  • How long does the cremation process take?

The entire process can take approximately 3 to 5 hours.

  • When I call, will someone come right away?

If you request immediate assistance, yes. If the family wishes to spend a short time with the deceased to say good-bye, that’s perfectly acceptable. Your funeral director will come when your time is right.

  • How can I make sure my cremation is environmentally friendly?

The options for green cremation are growing. There are various ways you can make cremation less harmful to the environment such as by choosing a biodegradable cremation container and urns.

  • What can I do with the cremated remains?

You can keep the cremated remains in your possession, scatter where allowed, bury in a cemetery or place in a mausoleum. A portion of the cremated remains may be kept as a remembrance usually in a mini urn or keepsake jewelry.

  • What is the purpose of Embalming?

Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.

  • Why do most family's choose cremation?

Cremation has become increasingly popular as it is simple, affordable and also provides peace of mind to the family during this difficult time. Many people also choose cremation for environmental concerns, the dignity and simplicity of cremation.

  • Do I have to buy an urn from the cremation company I use?

No! You are not required to buy an urn from the funeral home or crematory that you use. It’s all up to you from where you want to buy an urn.

  • Can I plan my cremation in advance?

Yes. Planning your cremation ahead provides peace of mind to the family and also help save money down the lane. For more information, feel free to call us.

  • Is there financial help if I need it?

There are a number of options available, including:

    • Determine if the deceased person qualifies for any entitlements. Many people are entitled to get financial assistance with their funeral costs from government agencies if they qualify.

    • Review all insurance policies the deceased person has, including life insurance. Some life insurance policies have coverage clauses for funeral related costs.

    • Find local charities providing financial help for funeral expenses. Search for non profit organizations and for churches in your area.

    • Talk to your funeral director about cremation options - these can be much less expensive depending on your choices.
